Locals knitted fake Cops to slow drivers
Locals in Fillongley, Warwickshire, installed knitted traffic officers and fake cameras to slow down reckless motorists on their main street.
Locals dressed mannequins in high-visibility vests to mimic real police officers after recent crashes occurred along the busy village road. The Knit and Natter group spent four months preparing these realistic props to deter dangerous driving behavior effectively.
A new knitted officer stands beneath a thirty mile per hour sign with a mock speed gun aimed at passing cars. Heather Badham, the town councillor, stated that the installations were put in place on October thirteen following extensive preparation work by the community group.
Badham noted that ninety% of accidents happen because drivers miss signs and hit pedestrians on the Nuneaton road. She observed that many motorists brake suddenly when they think the knitted figures are real police officers checking their speed.
Official records indicate eleven accidents happened in four years near a primary school on the dangerous junction. Tom Docker praised the project as a brilliant initiative that speaks well to the creativity of the entire local community.
